Although Melania's family comes from a Catholic
background, (before WWII) her father, to the dismay of their relatives, wished for her not to
receive the Christian sacraments of Baptism and Communion due to his
commitment to socialist atheism.
Roman Catholic Church is not very popular in
many Central European countries, because of their criminal collaboration with Fascism/
Nazism during WWII.
